Why Name the Band The Grape Smugglers?
After an evening of over indulging in Chianti and the night before a return flight from Italy, Dave Stella was trying to figure a way to return to his home in Ohio without drawing attention to the number of grapes he has consumed in liquid form. Alluding to this bootlegging operation, his fellow elbow benders accused Dave of being a Grape Smuggler and the rest as they say is history.
